ZnSe PCV Lens Brief Introduction

The ZnSe plano-concave lens diverges a collimated beam from a virtual focus and are commonly used in beam expanders. Plano-concave lenses have a negative focal length and negative spherical aberration, which can be used to balance out aberrations of other lenses in the system. ZnSe lenses operate between 600nm and 16µm wavelengths and are ideal for CO₂ laser applications and mid-IR femtosecond pulse applications. These lenses are available uncoated or with an antireflection coating optimized at 8~12μm.
