Optical Windows are flat plane-parallel plates, which are often used to protect electronic sensors or detectors without blocking optical transmission. Optical Windows do not change the magnification of a system. We offer a variety of optical windows, which cover the wavelength range from ultraviolet (UV) to infrared (IR). Barium fluoride's properties are similar to those of calcium fluoride, but it is more resistant to high energy radiation. It is less resistant to water damage. In dry environments, it can be used in applications requiring exposure to temperatures up to 800 °C. When handling barium fluoride optics, as it is a hazardous material, please wear gloves whenever handling these windows and thoroughly wash your hands afterwards.
