A corner reflector is a device that forms a spatial solid angle by using three mutually perpendicular external reflecting planes. This allows incident light to be reflected back at 180° regardless of the incident angle. It is commonly used in applications where dispersion, chromatic aberration, material absorption, or reflection from the front surface of a glass prism are not desired. These applications include interferometry, optical delay lines, and collimation systems.
